Candidate Questions
Civic Camp will be surveying 2010 Calgary City Council candidates. In the interest of open democracy, rather than a small committee decide what should be asked we thought we’d put it to the community at large to decide.
1. What questions would you like us to ask them? Let us know.
2. Vote for which proposed questions Civic Camp should ask. The top vote getting questions will be included in the survey and be used in candidate forums.
3. Please remember to review and vote on questions on the other pages. You are not limited to voting questions on the first page only.

What non-political experience will you bring that makes you the best choice?
Many candidates push their political experience, or the lack of experience of their challengers as an indicator of future success in politics. What non-political experience would you bring to the job that sets you apart from other candidates, and why will that make a difference?

Why does City of Calgary ignore male victims of female perpetrated domestic violence?
• 50% OF THE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARE MEN, but the voice of male victims of female perpetrated domestic violence is not allowed, discriminated against, not permitted and locked out from any discussion on solutions.
The family of Men Support Society, Alberta registered 1992, has attempted many times asked to participate in the community discussion with Calgary Domestic Violence Committee (CDVC) and the Alliance to End Violence and each time we have been shut out.
When elected Mayor of the City of Calgary will you require inclusion into the domestic violence discussion male victims of female perpetrated domestic violence?5 votes -

Which area in Calgary will you first decide to build a new school in?
We recently built and bought a new house in the NW. I am noticing a lot of kids taking bus to the nearest LRT station and connecting another bus to their nearest school. One time to a particular school, I noticed it took 2 full buses to pick up all the kids and there were still some kids left over. I am sure this is not only in the NW and in other areas too. We need new schools before we build new communities!

what are you planning to do about the fenced and gated dog park issue? Many dog owners want fenced
fenced and gated off-leash dog parks. removing the fence at the Cambrian Heights parks has left many dog owners without a good inner city off-leash area to exercise their dogs.
